Nearly 50 Chamber members and guests attended Business After Hours at Griffin’s Greenhouses on June 22nd. Guests enjoyed the beautiful gardens, networked with fellow Chamber members and learned planting tips for businesses. Vikki Whitney, from Griffin’s, shared Tips for Business Beautification demonstrating what plants work well for busy business owners, and which plants to stay away from.
Refreshments and drinks were served for guests to enjoy while wandering the gardens and admiring the beautiful plants and flowers.
2016 marks the 40th year as a family owned and operated business for Griffin’s Greenhouses. Ann & Jack Griffin started the business in 1976 by selling plants at a road side stand. Ann and Jack’s children, Vikki and Kyle are now also very involved in the business as General Manager and Greenhouse Manager.
A 40th Anniversary celebration was held on June 26th where the public was invited to wander the gardens and celebrate with the Griffin family.
Griffin’s Greenhouses specializes in perennials, custom planting and display gardens. They also offer:

- Urn Club
- A Customer Appreciation Card – offering discounts and supporting a local not-for-profit organization each year
Did you know?
Griffin’s offers their gardens for photography sessions during the months of May-September. The gardens have been used for:
- Wedding photos
- Family or generation photos
- Fashion Catalogues
There is a small fee to rent the gardens for photography sessions which is refundable in the event of inclement weather. The garden includes a beautiful gazebo, two ponds, a decorative carriage and more.
Many guests often visit the gardens to relax by a pond, curl up with a book, or just enjoy the tranquility.
