Board President: After growing up in Young’s Point, Jillian Harrington has returned to her roots as a third-generation resort owner/operator at Clearview Cottage Resort. She has always valued the hard work of her local community, previously holding a role as Marketing and Membership Coordinator for the Kawartha Chamber. With her degrees in Communications, Education and Behaviour Science, she understands how these interact in order to best serve the community. After years as a classroom teacher, she is back to continue the family passion of providing other families the chance to create memories. While giving her own family the opportunity to experience the connections and care that a small town provides.

1st Vice President
Proudly from North Kawartha, Mary represents our area by bringing updates from our community; gathered from volunteering with The Breakfast Club Program, sitting on the Legion Executive as 2nd Vice Chair and as a member of the newly created Economic Development Cooperative. Mary has learned a lot about the achievements and challenges our entire region faces and the important role the Chamber plays. This entire experience enhances her career as a Realtor in the Apsley Area. Mary is passionate about the growth of our communities, assisting businesses during this growth and maintaining the core values that brought us all to the area we call home! 
 

2nd Vice President
Lauren was born and raised in Selwyn Township and currently resides in Lakefield. She completed her degree in Fine Arts at Guelph University and continued her education at George Brown College obtaining an Advanced Diploma in Advertising. She spent 6 years in Toronto pursuing a successful Marketing career before returning back home with her partner Michael McDonnell and opened Clo Design Studio. Lauren has a passion to help local businesses and organizations grow to their full marketing potential.
 

Secretary-Treasurer
Born and raised in Selwyn, Michael returned to the area in 2019 to partner with father Tony Davidson at TD Wealth Private Investment Advice. Working with professionals and business owners they take the time to get to know their clients, to uncover their financials goals and wealth priorities creating a wealth plan and investment strategy unique to their clients and family. Outside of work Michael is active in the community as member of the BEL Rotary Club

Past President
Tracy and her husband Matt own and operate Logan Tree Experts, a fully insured tree care service in the Kawartha region. Tracy is a Certified Arborist and manages the Tree Health program at Logan Tree Experts. Originally from Southwestern Ontario, Tracy moved to her husband's hometown of Lakefield in 2007 to start the business and they became members of the Chamber in 2009.

Cathy was born and raised in the small local village of Indian River, now residing in Warsaw with her partner Chris. A small business owner for over 17 years, first in Home Services, then onto a small restaurant, and now owner/operator of The Kawartha Butterfat Factory. With experience in a few different areas of business in the Kawartha’s, Cathy felt it was time to move onto helping others get their dreams and goals off the ground, by helping in any way possible with young entrepreneurs. 

 

Board Director
 Originally from the GTA Leslie moved to Young’s Point in 2017. Leslie has been treating people with many different soft tissue injuries for over 15 years. With her in-depth knowledge and expertise as a Registered Massage Therapist, Kinesiologist and Personal Trainer, Leslie uses both hands on techniques and active movements to ensure that proper rehabilitation is achieved. Thus allowing a safe and quick recovery and a return to normal function. Leslie is excited to work with other local businesses and immerse herself in the community.

Board Director
Chris was born in London, ON and studied economics at McMaster in Hamilton where he met his future wife Sarah who was originally from Peterborough. Chris is a Financial Planner and Investment Advisor with Herod Financial Services where he provides investment, insurance and financial planning advice to a broad range of clients. Outside of work he enjoys outdoor activities like camping, canoeing and hiking as well as basketball.

Michelle was born in Newcastle, England and came to Canada as a small child and settled in Peterborough with family. Raised in Selwyn Township and a graduate of Fleming College. Michelle worked for many years in Office Administration while living in Toronto before making it back to settle once again in this community. Michelle was able to participate in the Breakfast Program at South Monaghan Public School when children were little and had the pleasure of doing some Volunteer work through International travel as well. Purchased Garden Style in Bridgenorth during the spring of 2018 and it has been a whirlwind of learning and meeting all the wonderful Customers.

The owner of New Beginnings Contracting Services, Tania-Joy Bartlett, is a Master Electrician, Heavy Equipment Operator, and a Truck Driver. She prides herself in being able to offer her clients a more efficient way of completing their Construction Projects, with her “All in One” approach to contracting.
One phone call allows her customers access to any trade required for any project without having to deal with more than one company. No job is to small or big, for Tania-Joy and her team of highly skilled trades people.

David and his family recently moved to the Cottesloe. David, along with his wife and two girls, have fallen in love with the local area and are always looking for new places to explore. Prior to relocating to the Peterborough region, David was an active Rotarian and regularly sought opportunities for further engagement with the community. He has worked in education for nearly two decades and feels incredibly fortunate to be associated with Lakefield College School. David earned his BA/BEd and MEd from Brock University and continually takes advantage of opportunities to learn, grow and make connections with the local community.
 

Board Director
Mike was born and raised in the Peterborough/Lakefield area. He is co-owner of Corner Financial Partners in Peterborough which is part of the Assante Wealth Management team. The Corner Financial Partner team works with families and local businesses to help plan for their financial future. This includes tax & estate planning, insurance, RRSPs, TFSAs and all other investment platforms. Mike is also a big brother with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada where he spends time every week showing his little brother all the great spots in our community.

With a strong background in finance and technology, Gail is a strategic sales and business professional who has a solid reputation for helping small businesses. Before moving to Ennismore 7 years ago, Gail held senior sales and management positions for more than 15 years with major technology companies like Microsoft and HP. After serving on the board of directors for Community Futures Peterborough for two years, Gail stepped up to the Executive Director role in January 2018. She uses her wealth of experience to consult with local businesses on finance and growth strategies. Gail is an avid boater and is involved in many community groups like the Women’s Business Network of Peterborough and the Ennismore Horticultural group. Today Gail serves as treasurer on the Board of Directors for the Ontario Association of CFDC.

Board Director
Born and raised in Peterborough, Mike is a graduate of Fleming College and Trent University. Mike has been an Employer Liaison with Agilec in Peterborough & Lakefield for more than 8 years. Mike’s work involves consulting with hundreds of local businesses to hire and train staff as well access training grants to expand business capacity. Mike is passionate about working with small to medium sized businesses which steered him to get involved with the Kawartha Chamber Board of Directors in 2017 and serve as board President in 2019-20. 

Board Director – Glenn grew up in and around Lakefield and attended Lakefield District and Secondary School. After going to university for Physical Education, Glenn ran his own business as a personal trainer and wellness consultant for 30 years, In January 2014, Glenn joined Darling Insurance as a licensed broker, with his role being Business Development and Public Relations. He lives in Peterborough with his son, Jace, and they stay active skiing, cycling and hiking.

Cindy was born and raised right here in Selwyn Township, and together with her husband owns/operates Windover Plumbing Inc. With 2 grown children, Cindy sees the need for a strong business community that will help our area thrive and thus ensure jobs for the next generation. Cindy believes in getting out and being involved in the community in whatever capacity she can make a difference.
