This Holiday Season – Choose Local!
Kawartha Chamber of Commerce & Tourism New Campaign Launch
Holiday season is once again upon us. It has been a whirlwind year and businesses continue to adapt to these challenging times. This holiday season will still be filled with joy and cheer even if it looks a little different.
The Kawartha Chamber is encouraging everyone to Choose Local! this holiday season and beyond. Small businesses are owned by our friends and neighbours, and they need our patronage now more than ever. When you choose to buy local the benefits extend to their suppliers, employees and community initiatives that they in turn support.
The Kawartha Chamber Choose Local! campaign is intended to make it easier than ever to support local. Through social, blog and vlog posts throughout November and December, the Kawartha Chamber will be providing ideas for shopping and supporting local this season.
For those looking for convenience, online shopping can also be done with local businesses! Many small businesses are offering ecommerce options as well as curbside and contactless pickup or delivery. Buying locally has never been simpler or safer! You can find a wide array of local businesses at www.kawarthachamber.ca
Tracy Logan, Kawartha Chamber Board President, “Now more than ever I encourage everyone to buy, eat, and hire locally whenever possible. Not only does it allow us to stay connected to our local community, but it keeps our money in our local economy, which in the end benefits us all. We are lucky to have so many fantastic shops, restaurants, and service businesses in the Kawarthas – explore and enjoy! Have a safe and healthy holiday season!”
Follow social media (@KawarthaChamber) to keep up with this new campaign. Posts will cover a broad range of topics from unique gift ideas to Black Friday to rural retailers. There are so many ways, big and small, to help support our local businesses this season – this campaign will highlight some great ways to do so. Also watch for an upcoming contest to win tickets to Lang Pioneer Village Museum’s SOLD OUT Heritage Christmas in the Village.
This holiday season let’s keep the cheer here! Choose Local!
