President’s Notes – Spring 2021

Spring is definitely in the air, giving us some warm weather to enjoy and a little more pep in our step. Although, the last year has had its fair share of uncertainties, one thing has remained steady and that is the incredible support of our businesses and the community as a whole. We may be a region made up of smaller groups but together we show great strength as a whole.

Our AGM was a perfect example of this, and I would like to thank everyone who took the time to attend. Additionally, our gratitude goes out to the Chamber staff for putting so much work into ensuring the virtual meeting ran smoothly and efficiently.

As the new President I sit with pride, alongside an amazing and diverse group of Directors who represent various industries and communities. As your Board we look forward to listening and speaking on your behalf. I have had the fortunate opportunity to be involved with the Chamber for over 10 years, as a staff member, a business owner, a Board Director and now as President. I hold a great deal of respect, passion and care for our businesses and the community as a whole. I welcome each of you to join this outstanding team, by getting involved. I recognize your time is limited, and the value it holds. However, if you want a change of pace or just a chance to get more involved in your community, then come on over and join a committee. We would be happy to discuss what opportunities may suit your interests.

If a committee is not your style, and you want to dip your toes in first, we have a number of events and activities that give you that chance. Each month provides you a new opportunity to get the most from your membership, network, learn, share and feel the camaraderie of local business and the uniqueness of this beautiful Kawartha region. We have a lot of events coming up this Spring! From our Volunteer Appreciation event, to our Virtual Hops in May and June! Stay tuned for details by subscribing to our NewsFlash or following the Chamber on social media (@KawarthaChamber).
