As countries across the world continue to cope with the devastating impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, necessary questions are being asked about how governments and the various multilateral and national institutions and organizations designed to prevent these kinds of outbreaks failed.

It will take time to untangle the myriad of geopolitical and governance failures behind the present condition, but it is hard not to see how complacency played a role in our collective pandemic prevention and preparedness.

Kawartha Chamber Launches Digital Service Squad to Help Small Businesses Adopt Online Technologies

Receives $45,000 Digital Main Street Grant

The Kawartha Chamber of Commerce and Tourism has received a $45,000 grant from Digital Main Street Ontario for a Digital Service Squad (DSS) to help small downtown businesses use digital technologies to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.  Funding for the grant is provided by the federal program FedDev Ontario.

Created by RBC, Canada Unitedis a movement to support local businesses in communities across the country. The Canada United Small Business Relief Fund (CUSBRF) was established to help small businesses offset the cost of expenses to reopen safely or adopt digital technologies to move more of their business online.
