President’s Notes – February 2017

Things have been busy at the Kawartha Chamber of Commerce & Tourism office.  Our year end has wrapped up and the annual audit is well underway. In addition, staff and board members have been involved in a strategic direction review to prioritize key areas of focus for the next 3 yrs.  We asked for input from members, non-members and community organizations by way of a survey and if you participated in this survey, my thanks to you for taking time to provide feedback. Let’s start with “Merry Christmas” – it’s approaching fast and we have already celebrated the Santa Claus Parades in Apsley, Lakefield and Warsaw as well as Christmas in the Village, Holiday House Tour in Lakefield, and the Buckhorn Holiday Home Tour.  (more…)

Summer is officially over. Even though the temperature is dropping, most days continue to have blue skies and sunshine in the Kawarthas. That means local residents and tourists will still be out there shopping for goods and services in the hopes of finding one more end of summer deal.

It will be August when you read this, a summer milestone, and a great opportunity for us to check in.

While there are many leisure and entertainment based events happening throughout the region this summer, I wanted to take a moment to remind everyone that the Chamber is still very much present; supporting our members and the communities we serve. (more…)
